The Final Battle "a drift showdown"The Final Battle "a drift showdown" brought to you by Eurosport and RaceFactory USA on Saturday, March 18th, 2006 within Hawaii Raceway Park. Opening it's gates to the general public at 9 a.m. sharp, the Final Battle brought together Hawaii's top drifters competing in three different classes which included Class A for the advanced drivers, Class B for the intermediate drivers, and Class C for the beginner drivers. Back in Hawaii making a special appearance as a guest judge was D1GP driver Ken Maeda judging Class A, who did demo runs with the Race Factory USA car throughout the day. Class B was judged by Barry Wong driver of the KAAZ USA D1GP car who also did demo runs throughout the day, with Class C being judged by Kell Komatsubara from Sportcraft Racecars. The competition comprised of one practice run, with the following run being the real run that counted. Courses for Class B and C comprised of the chicane to off camber area of hawaii raceway park, with Class A utilizing the chicane, off camber, and sweeper. Finals for Class A was a tandem final, with a run and chase format. Add some onolicious food and drinks, games for the keikis, prize giveaways, and a $3000 cash purse for the drivers of the Final Battle, and you defintely got yourself a battle to remember.
